SPC History

Soy Pure Candles was founded in 2005 by a husband and wife team who believe that we, as a society, are exposed to an abundance of toxins in our day-to-day environment. The hospitality industry seemed like a perfect example of such exposure. Restaurant patrons and servers are constantly in an enclosed environment where many candles burn. After much research, a non-toxic substitute for regular paraffin candles was found: SOY WAX!

After some experimentation and a great deal of consultation with the industry's leaders, Soy Pure Candles developed a votive candle. A year and a half later, Soy Pure Candles developed a 100% soy-based tea light candle that the hospitality industry could use. Late in 2007, Soy Pure Candles developed the industry's' first substitute for liquid paraffin oil users, a soy-based disposable candle system (DCS).

Soy Pure Candles can be found in restaurants all over Ontario and Quebec and are now starting to serve the entire North American hospitality market, from small family restaurants to large chain restaurants and hotels.

Always Exercise Caution with Open Flames...
Be sure to remove all packaging and labels materials before lighting a candle.  Burn only in a proper votive holder placed on a heat-resistant surface. For best results, keep the wax around the wick area free of matches, wick trimmings, or other flammable materials. Keep the wick centered and trimmed to about 1/4 inch (65 mm) before each burning. Keep the votive holder or conatiner out of direct drafts, vents, and air currents. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Never touch or move a votive or container candle when the wax is still a hot liquid. Never leave a burning candle unattended.
